Low-Temperature Nuclear Spin±Lattice Relaxation in Amorphous Materials
نویسنده
چکیده
The low temperature nuclear spin±lattice relaxation mechanism caused by the effective interaction between nuclear spins and two-level systems (TLS), arising from a paramagnetic centre interaction with TLS by means of g-factor modulation and the electron±nuclear dipole±dipole interaction, is investigated. It is shown, that this mechanism of the nuclear spin±lattice relaxation is effective under definite conditions.

Li Dynamics in Amorphous LiNbO3 as Probed by Solid State NMR on Different Length Scales
Long-range Li diffusion parameters of amorphous LiNbO3 are probed by Li two-time spin-alignment echo NMR spectroscopy which is sensitive to slow Li dynamics. The jump rates which were extracted from the spin-alignment echo decay curves exhibit Arrhenius behaviour between 293 K and 413 K. The activation energy (0.41(1) eV) is in good agreement with that of the high-temperature flank of the Li NM...
متن کاملNuclear spin relaxation in glassy ionic conductors
The nuclear spin relaxation behaviour in disordered ionically conducting materials is ascribed to a mechanism based on diffusion-controlled relaxation. In this targetdiffusion model, relaxation is assumed to occur at interstitialcy sites, triggered by the arrival of diffusing ions. The dependence of the spin-lattice relaxation rate on the temperature, Larmor frequency and ionic concentration ca...
متن کاملSpin-lattice relaxation in amorphous silicon. Evidence of anomalous temperature dependences
2014 We have investigated the spin-lattice relaxation of localized states in evaporated amorphous silicon films. Temperature and concentration dependences of the relaxation rate have been measured in the temperature range 4.2-290 K. Below 10 K a phonon bottleneck is present. Between 10 and 100 K, a single phonon process predominates. It can be accounted for assuming a significant exchange inter...

63 Cu and 170 nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and nuclear quadrupole resonance (NQR) experiments are reported on copper-oxide compounds related to high temperature superconductors that are nearly ideal realizations of spin 1/2 Heisenberg antiferromagnets with different geometries of the magnetic interactions: 1 dimensional spin chains, 2 dimensional planes, two coupled chains (two-leg ladder),...
متن کاملBeyond the T1 limit: singlet nuclear spin states in low magnetic fields.
Low-field nuclear spin singlet states may be used to store nuclear spin order in a room temperature liquid for a time much longer than the spin-lattice relaxation time constant T1. The low-field nuclear spin singlets are unaffected by intramolecular dipole-dipole relaxation, which is generally the predominant relaxation mechanism. We demonstrate storage of nuclear spin order for more than 10 ti...
